Tirupur : A massive fire broke out in an utensil store in Tirupur in the wee hours of the morning, damaging utensils worth Rs.25 lakhs.
At Jeegaram's utensil store in Thirumurugan Poondi in Tirupur, a massive fire broke out at about 5 am, today. Jeegaram and his employees who were sleeping inside the store had to climb walls to flee from the fire. Following this incident, the Fire Department was informed of the same and three fire trucks were immediately pressed into service to douse the fire. It is reported that the utensils made of bronze, brass and silver were completely damaged.
The estimated loss incurred by the fire accident is reportedly Rs.25 lakhs. Since the store is located on the main road connecting Tirupur and Coimbatore, a huge crowd had gathered at the spot. The Thirumurugan Poondi police are investigating the case.
