On the occasion of Vijayadashami, the Vidyarambam function was held in a grand manner at the Siddhapudur Ayyapan Temple. Vijayadashami is celebrated in a grand manner, nationwide.
As part of the Vidyarambam rituals held in various temples, the Ayyappan Temple in Siddhapudur plays host to thousands of children taking their first step into education.
Mantras like Om, Sri and Aa were written on the children's tongues with rice, honey and gold needles to begin their journey in education.
"Doing Vidyarambam for children on the occasion of Vijayadashami will be a blessing for the children for the belief is that they will be bestowed with excellence in education.
Hence, after doing Vidyarambam on this auspicious day, we will enroll our children in schools," opined parents of the toddlers.
