Coimbatore: The review meeting on pending cases under the Tamil Nadu Protection of Interests of Depositors Act was led by B Murugesh, Deputy Secretary to Government Home, P&E Department and Commercial Crime- II and SP Vijayakumar at the Coimbatore District Collectorate, today.

DROs from nine districts including Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, Namakkal, Tirupur, Nilgiris, Krishnagiri, Karur and Dharmapuri attended the meeting. Coimbatore DRO Ramathurai Murugan welcomed the gathering.
The Tamil Nadu Protection of Interests of Depositors Act safeguards investors in both private and public sectors. In the review meeting, the seized properties of the fraudulent companies and the property accumulated with the investors' fund are being equally distributed to compensate the investors.
The meeting also analysed the pending cases and the reasons for the delay. It was advised to resolve the cases as soon as possible. According to this Act, not only the company's properties but also the properties of owners of the company and their allies can be seized. B Murugesh, Deputy Secretary to Government Home, P&E Department said, "The Government is providing awareness to the public to not invest blindly in private companies without a proper analysis."
The DROs of all the districts, Government lawyers, Commercial Crime Branch Deputy Superindentent of Police, Coimbatore Registrar, PWD Executive Engineer (Infrastructure and Maintenance), Police Superintendents and other officials from various departments were also present at the review meeting.
