Coimbatore: With October 21 observed annually as 'Heroes Day' commemorating the heroism of policemen who died while serving in the police force, the Coimbatore Police Department also commemorated the day.
Coimbatore: With October 21 observed annually as 'Heroes Day' commemorating the heroism of policemen who died while serving in the police force, the Coimbatore Police Department also commemorated the day.
The Police Department paid homage to police officer Rajaratnam who was murdered in the 1985 robbery case, police officer Chandrasekaran who was hit by a lorry while trying to chase and nab the lorry that caused an accident in 2011 and police officer Selvaraj who was brutally murdered by members of a banned organisation.
As part of the Heroes Day event, street plays were performed to create awareness among the public which captivated onlookers. The event began at Gandhipuram bus stand and was also held in Singanallur, Sungam, Sundarapuram and Ukkadam.
