Coimbatore: A team of four faculty members and 10 PG students from the Department of Zoology, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women visited Narasipuram village under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) Scheme on October 2. Peer members of SHGs demonstrated how to prepare liquid biofertilizer to the participants.
Coimbatore: A team of four faculty members and 10 PG students from the Department of Zoology, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women visited Narasipuram village under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) Scheme on October 2. Peer members of SHGs demonstrated how to prepare liquid biofertilizer to the participants.
Further, the preparation of liquid biofertilizer from fish waste was explained and the village people were trained on the method of preparation.
This inspired curiosity among the farmers present at the meeting. Pamphlets containing the procedure were also issued. Sample biofertilizer and EMO (microbiome used as an enhancer) were distributed. During the discussion, the villagers’ doubts were clarified by the faculty and students on how to apply the fertilizer in the field and on the plants.
The participants at the meeting shared their feedback about their learning experience and requested for more demonstration sessions in the forthcoming days. In conclusion, as an extensive education program, the team met the middle school teachers in Narasipuram and issued the pamphlets, while insisting on the dissemination of awareness of environmental education and its conservation.
