Coimbatore: Marking the 150th birth anniversary of Gandhiji and attempting to create awareness and encourage art among students, an Art teacher, Moorthy, from R K Rangammal School on Avinashi Road created a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi on water, using 'Kolam' powder.
Coimbatore : Marking the 150th birth anniversary of Gandhiji and attempting to create awareness and encourage art among students, an Art teacher, Moorthy, from R K Rangammal School on Avinashi Road created a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi on water, using 'Kolam' powder.
Addressing the media, Moorthy said, "One needs to be very careful while creating art on water. If the pressure is more, there are chances of the powder mixing with the water.
I took an hour to complete this drawing. Last Month, I created an artwork using flowers to create awareness on banning plastic. I am also planning to create an artwork on Gandhi on 'Gada cloth' to create awareness among students and public to vow not to use plastics by getting their signatures on it."
The students were delighted and impressed with the art work exhibit.
