Coimbatore: The city police arrested three college students who were reportedly dealing illegally in the sale of drugs in Coimbatore city police limits.

Based on the orders received from the Sujith Kumar, the Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore District, the city police are taking stringent action to curb the use and sale of drugs, especially ganja, drug pills and many more illegal substances in the city. The special police squad has been deployed to monitor the drug addicts and drug sellers.
In this scenario, the Chettipalayam police received a tip-off that college students were selling drugs in Premier Nagar, Pollachi Road. A team led by the Sub Inspector Prakash of Chettipalayam Police Station rushed to the spot on Wednesday evening and caught them red-handed, and also confiscated two-wheelers and 1.2 kg of ganja from them.
Further investigation revealed that the three were Monesh (19) son of Amalraj, a resident of Nilgiris district, Manikandaprabhu (20), son of Ravi, a resident of Ramnadu and Ajay Kumar (21), son of Senthil Kumar, a resident of Namakkal. It was further revealed that the three accused were students of Karpagam College and Christ The King College. The Chettipalayam policed booked them under the Prevention of Drugs Act.
