Coimbatore: An awareness programme on the ill effects of drug abuse was held at the Government Arts and Science College in Valparai, Coimbatore.
The program was organised by the College Welfare Scheme and the Bharathiar University Women's Educational Association.
The College Dean, Gunasundari delivered a special address at the event following which the Assistant Professor of Bharathiar University's Women's Educational Association, Mangayarkarasi and Valparai Sub-Inspector Veerammal spoke about women's safety and drug abuse. Dr. Karthikesh elaborated on the benefits of yoga.
The Special Guest of the event, Dr. Mahesh Anandhi said, "Everyone must be a responsible citizen and take care of their health. They should also try and avoid drug abuse amongst family and friends." College students, staff and others were also present during the event.
