Coimbatore : Following the shocking incident where three members of Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) and a social activist were brutally attacked by supporters of brick kiln and local AIADMK functionary in Thadagam on Wednesday, the Vice President of MNM Party R. Mahendran visited the injured party cadres who are undergoing treatment at Coimbatore GH.
During a Grama Sabha meeting held at Chinna Thadagam on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti, three members of MNM Babu, Suresh and Prabhu who were witnessing the meeting were brutally assaulted by a gang of people who claimed to be supporters of brick kilns operating there.
All the three sustained injuries to their face and extremities and were rushed to the Government Hospital.
On Thursday, MNM Vice President Mahendran visited the three injured party cadres and comforted them. The President of the party Kamal Hassan also spoke over the phone with the injured party cadres.
Following this a petition has been filed at the District Collectorate and Superintendent of Police to initiate action against the perpetrators.
