Coimbatore : Dravida Viduthalai Kazhagam (DVK) members protested by burning the copy of National Educational Policy Draft in front of the District Collector's office today.

Several political parties have opposed against the decision of the government of conducting board exams for the 5th and 8th standard citing that new public examination for class 5 and 8 would be a big blow to the students' community and would affect the physical and mental health of the students.
While addressing the press, District Secretary Velliangiri of DVK said, "The centre is trying to impose 'Kula Kalvi' type of education in the nation.

We strongly condemn the actions of the government and demand immediate withdrawal of the bill. If not revoked, DVK will hold statewide protests."
