Coimbatore: For the first time, the visually impaired people can hereon access the District Collectorate with a sigh of relief, as setting of braille tiles and tactile pavements are nearing completion.
The District Collectorate through a release stated that the work of laying braille tiles and tactile pavements at the Collectorate to aid the visually impaired access the departments with ease has neared it's completion.
"Over 90% of the work has been completed and shortly the district Collectorate will be totally disabled differently", the Collector noted.
He also added that in the near future, all government buildings in the city will be transformed into disabled friendly structures.
The distinctive floor patterns and the braille tiles will help the visually impaired to access several department to which they visit to get welfare funds or file petitions, the release said.
