Coimbatore: S V G V School in Karamadai near Mettupalayam is hosting a 10-day NCC joint camp program in its school grounds. About 500 students from 15 schools and two colleges of Nilgiris district are taking part in the NCC joint camp.
Coimbatore: S V G V School in Karamadai near Mettupalayam is hosting a 10-day NCC joint camp program in its school grounds. About 500 students from 15 schools and two colleges of Nilgiris district are taking part in the NCC joint camp.
Students will be trained in various field activities such as rifle shooting, tent making, walking, exercise, mountaineering, map reading and many more. The Nilgiris District NCC Chief Officer Lieutenant Deb and Army personnel from Wellington are training the students at the camp.
The NCC Group Commander of Coimbatore District, SCS Naidu visited the camp organised on behalf of the 31st section NCC of Nilgiris District and spoke to the students. He urged the students to love their motherland and reiterated that every student is a soldier in the future. He also noted that the certification provided by this training would be an inspiration for their future careers.
