Radhakrishnan (34), a resident of Rani Anna Nagar in Arumbakkam, Chennai was booked by the Chennai police in 36 cases that include murder, attempt to murder, threaten to murder, kidnapping, theft, robbery and so on. He continued to give the police the slip and had been roaming freely in Chennai. Meanwhile, as per reports, the Chennai City Police were planning for an encounter operation for Rowdy Radhakrishnan. Upon knowing this information, he fled Chennai and had been absconding for a while.
Subsequently, the Chennai City Police deployed an exclusive squad all over Tamil Nadu to intensify the search for Radhakrishnan. Some members of the exclusive squad were also searching for him without disclosing their official identity. Meanwhile, the police were informed that Radhakrishnan happened to be visiting a private hospital on Trichy Road to be treated for a leg injury.
Based on the tip-off received, the City police informed top officials of the Coimbatore City Police Department. Based on the orders received from the higher officials, the Singanallur police arrested Rowdy Radhakrishnan at the hospital, last night. Following the arrest, he was subjected to a thorough investigation. Following this, the Singanallur police have informed the Chennai Arumbakkam Police about Radhakrishnan's arrest. The police team from Chennai are presently on their way to Coimbatore to take custody of Radhakrishnan.
According to police sources, Rowdy Radhakrishanan is expected to be handed over to the Chennai police some time soon. The arrest of the well-known Chennai-based rowdy in Coimbatore caused a stir in the city.
