Presently, the Coimbatore Corporation has 500 DBCs with five members in each ward. With the team of 300 new DBCs being appointed now, anti-dengue measures will get a boost. Further, CCMC is marking certain wards as hot spot dengue zones with regular cases of dengue being reported from certain wards.
"If we identify dengue cases from only certain areas, CCMC will take those wards as hot spots and engage in additional anti-dengue measures which include mass cleaning drives. Hot spots keep changing every two weeks depending on the dengue cases reported from the wards," stated a senior Corporation official. "With additional workforce, CCMC is certainly working toward creating awareness about dengue and anti-dengue drives to manage the out break," he added.
