Coimbatore: Relatives of the woman who was found hanging at her workplace have petitioned the District Collector K Rajamani, demanding a CBI inquiry into the death of the young woman.
The 25-year old Shobana was the daughter of Padmanabhan, a resident of Pappampatti, near Coimbatore and worked in a beauty salon called 'Lalitha Sri' where she was found hanging on July 16. Her kin suspected foul play and felt that Shobana might have been murdered.
Hence, her relatives and the Tamil Nadu Boyar Munnetra Welfare Trust have submitted a petition alleging that the beauty parlour owner Lalitha and her husband may have compelled Shobana to engage in prostitution. Their plea stressed that they suspected Shobana might have committed suicide by refusing to comply to their demands. The kin demanded a CBI investigation to unravel the mystery of her death and while submitting their petition, they held placards stressing these demands.
