Coimbatore: Condemning Hindi imposition and arrest of Ex Minister P. Chidambaram among other resolutions were passed at the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee's General body meeting that was held at a private hall in Kalapatti here today.

The meeting was chaired by K.S.Alagiri, President of TN Congress in which ten resolutions were passed.
Addressing the party cadres, K.S.Alagiri stressed that India is just not one country but a union of countries with different languages and different cultures.
"It is not possible to have a single language, single religion, single culture for the entire country. The principles followed by the Congress party is the reason for India to stay as a single nation“ said the TamilNadu Congress President.
"Nehru was the reason behind Kashmir joining with India. However, Nehru was not responsible for PoK’s exclusion. It was because of Lord Mountbatten” added Alagiri.
"Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman is devoid of knowledge on economy. She is just a puppet in the hands of Amit Shah. Today, BJP is in power because Congress party did not work towards victory. Hence, cadres should work towards attaining victory in the Nanguneri and Vikravaandi by elections. Even if the party does not have the capacity to capture election booths they should atleast be capable of safeguarding the booths“, opined Alagiri.
He alleged that when crores of money is being spent by other parties on elections, Congress did not have even one rupee to spend during elections.
The other resolutions passed in the General body meeting include a massive protest in October against the BJP Government which failed to revive the economy. And, aid the struggling garment industry in Tirupur by urging the givernment to reconsider the loans taken by the textile units.
A resolution was passed to set up a separate board for garments. The meeting was attended by hundreds of party cadres across Tamil Nadu.
