Coimbatore: In the public meeting about revoking of Article 370 held in Mettupalayam, Ex- BJP Minister Pon. Radhakrishnan said, "The demand for separate Tamil Nadu was forgone by DMK as they feared the Centre's arrest in the past".

Pon Radhakrishnan explained that Jawaharlal Nehru himself had revoked 42 sections of the special status of Kashmir fearing indisciplined rule of Sheik Abdullah.

"Earlier, DMK withdrew from demanding Tamil Nadu as a separate country out of fear after Shiek Abdullah got arrested in Kashmir in 1963. DMK is now acting as if they have forgotten history", he added.

"After August 5, the world nations are impressed by India as Prime Minister Modi has achieved a 72-year long struggle in just 72 hours," opined Ex-Minister Pon Radhakrishnan.
