Tirupur: Over 40 people, including seven women, have been admitted to the Tirupur government hospital with symptoms of viral fever. All the patients have been admitted at separate wards and monitored.

Due to inclement weather conditions, several people especially children are being treated for symptoms of viral fever in the districts of Tirupur, Nilgiris and Coimbatore.
A team of ten doctors are being designated to treat the people admitted with symptoms of flu and viral fevers at Tirupur. All the patients are advised to stay hydrated and ORS supplements are being provided to them.

Patients suspected to have prolonged fever are subjected to dengue tests. The Tirupur GH is fully equipped to handle patients presenting with fever and dengue.
