Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Edappadi K Palanisamy participated in an event organised by the Tamil Nadu Forest Academy and awarded certificates to 550 Forest Guards including 168 women and 45 drivers on successful completion of their training.
Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Edappadi K Palanisamy participated in an event organised by the Tamil Nadu Forest Academy and awarded certificates to 550 Forest Guards including 168 women and 45 drivers on successful completion of their training.
The CM received the honorary march by the Forest Guards and later witnessed a brilliant display of talents during the event.
The Forest Guards were trained for six months on fire management, animal conflict, water management, horticulture, classroom training, exercise, self-defence, kawat training, yoga, driving, swimming, photography and more. Nine theoretical and vocational exams were conducted and 75 teachers were involved in the training. Intensive field training was also provided across 15 tiger reserves in Tamil Nadu, forest research centres and swamp forests.
The Minister of Forests, Dindigul C Sreenivasan, Minister for Municipal Administration, Rural Development and Implementation of Special Programme, SP Velumani and others were also present.
