Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy will be participating in the event hosted by the Tamil Nadu Forest Academy in awarding certificates to selected candidates who have successfully completed their training as Forest Guards.
Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy will be participating in the event hosted by the Tamil Nadu Forest Academy in awarding certificates to selected candidates who have successfully completed their training as Forest Guards.
597 candidates were selected in the Tamil Nadu Forest Uniformed Officers exams conducted in December 2018. 407 male Forest Guards and 190 female Forest Guards were selected and given their appointment orders by the Chief Minister on February 14. Following this, the Forest Guards underwent a six-month training at the Tamil Nadu Forest Academy, which began on March 25.
Forest Guards were trained on fire management, animal clashes, water management, horticulture, classroom training, exercise, self-defence, kawat training, yoga, driving, swimming, photography and more. Nine theoretical and vocational exams were conducted and 75 teachers were involved in their training. Intensive field training was also provided in 15 tiger reserves in Tamil Nadu, forest research centres and in swamp forests. The CM will award certificates to the 597 Forest Guards in an event tomorrow.
The Minister of Forests, Dindigul C Sreenivasan, Minister for Municipal Administration, Rural Development and Implementation of Special Programme S P Velumani, Deputy Speaker Pollachi V Jayaraman, Environment and Forest Department Secretariat Shambhu Kollolikar, PCCF (Research and Education) Amit Asthana, PCCF (Head of Department) Dr. P Durairasu, District Collector K Rajamani, MLAs and several other officials will also be present.
