Coimbatore: In a shocking theft incident, Rs.10 lakhs worth of jewels, cash and CCTV camera have been stolen from the house of a real estate businessman in Saibaba Colony, recently.
Real estate businesman, Aditya Gupta and his wife from Saibaba Colony had left to their hometown in Gujarat on September 16.
On September 19, following a trigger in the security alarm, Aditya Gupta was informed and he returned back home on September 22. He was shocked to find that his house has been burgled and Rs.10 lakh worth of items including a diamond ring, a gold chain, Rs. 2.5 lakh cash and foreign currencies had gone missing.
He immediately informed the Saibaba Colony Police who reached the spot for investigation. The police found that the burglars have stolen the DVR with the CCTV footage to hid their identity.
The police are also investigating in the angle that the crime could have been committed by someone within the house, especially interrogating the maids working at the residence.
The theft incident in a residential colony and burglars eloping with CCTV camera has shocked the residents.
