Coimbatore: The mosquitoes are posing a great inconvenience to all the public coming to the Gandhipuram All Women's police station. In the 15 police stations in Coimbatore which comprise of Law and Order, Crime Division, Transport Division and Anti-liquor, the All Women's Police Station in Gandhipuram is abuzz.
While the police station is busy dealing with over 15 complaints per day pertaining to family violence, crimes against women, child abuse and marital issues, the police officials and complainants face a unique problem caused by mosquitoes.

The public allege that the breeding of mosquitoes at the police station could cause viral diseases like malaria, chikungunya and dengue. "The Municipal authorities do not seem to sanitise the Government offices with sprays against mosquitoes. We have come to register a case and have been waiting since 2 pm uptil 7 pm now. The mosquitoes bites are unbearable, so much so that we wanted to leave the place immidiately. We feel that we will end up in hospital if we are bit by so many mosquitoes. The municipal authorities must take immediate action to control this," stated an irate complainant.
The police officers too have reportedly begun burning leaves at night to ward off the mosquitoes but in vain.
