Thunderstorms in Nilgiris cheers locals

The Nilgiris: Thunderstorms were experienced in Ooty, Coonoor, Kotagiri and surrounding areas. Continuous rainfall was also seen in Burliyar, Kattery, Selas, Aruvangadu, Kattabettu and surrounding areas.

Though drivers found it difficult to drive on the Coonoor-Mettupalayam road owing to the heavy rains, tea and vegetable farmers rejoiced that the rains would increase their produce. 



Locals were glad that there would be no shortage in supply of drinking water across Nilgiris. Though public life was affected, locals welcomed the rains.
