Coimbatore : Students lodged a complaint with the District Collector against Axent Academy in R S Puram for allegedly cheating students of several lakhs of rupees by not conducting a formal training program in NEET, as promised.
Headquartered in Chennai, Axent Academy is operating in R S Puram with 15 students undergoing training classes for the NEET exam. The Centre had collected from Rs. 55,000 to Rs. 1,00,000 from each student for these classes. But it is alleged that the coaching centre has been declaring frequent holidays and not conducting classes regularly. Also, it is reported that the previous batch of students from the Axent Acadmey had scored very low marks in NEET and were undergoing training again to prepare for next year's round of NEET exams.
The students alleged that they were not provided basic facilities at the Academy and also complained that the teachers were not being paid properly. Hence, students and their parents submitted a petition against the Axent Academy for cheating them of several lakhs of rupees. In the petition, they demanded that a case be registered against the General Manager, Mohammed Saddam Hussain and Manager Rajesh, and requested the District Collector to help them reclaim their money from the fraudsters.
