Tirupur: Over 300 private college students participated in the public awareness program on dengue fever which was held at Arulpuram next to Palladam in Tirupur district by the Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine.
The event was inaugurated by the District Entomologist, Shekhar. Students and professors went on a 3 km rally carrying awareness banners to explain the dengue fever epidemic, how dengue mosquitoes breed and measures to prevent dengue.
The rally kick-started in Arulpuram and culminated in Venkampalayam after covering all main roads in Tirupur. Students distributed pamphlets about dengue and its prevention to the public as part of the awareness rally.
