The Coimbatore Corporation has deputed officials to Bihar to bring about 13 containers consisting of more than 7000 Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and control units.
Around 2150 polling stations are proposed to be set up in the Corporation, adjoining municipalities and town panchayats. Authorities have already started preparing voters list and the draft electoral list will be released soon.
According to sources, a team of 13 officials under East Zone Assistant Commissioner accompanied by Armed reserve police have been deputed to Bihar to bring the EVMs. Teams from five districts in Tamil Nadu including Coimbatore are presently in Bihar to bring the EVMs and control units to their respective districts.
