Tirupur : Citing inadequate basic facilities at school, parents laid siege to the Government Middle School in Nachipalayam, Tirupur. Over 500 students study in this school which has Classes 1 - 5.
Parents have been raising complaints and submitted petitions several times stating that there were not enough classrooms and teachers in the school. With no sanitary workers in the school, parents alleged that students were made to clean the school by themselves. Enraged by the apathy of the school administration, parents laid siege to the school today.
The District Educational Officers and the South Zone Tahsildhar reached a compromise with the parents assuring immediate action to resolve all the issues. Following this, parents dispersed though the commotion caused a flutter in the Nachipalayam area.
