Coimbatore : The City Police have arrested a nine member gang for stealing two wheelers from several parts of the city. The offenders were produced in the Court and later remanded.
Coimbatore : The City Police have arrested a nine member gang for stealing two wheelers from several parts of the city. The offenders were produced in the Court and later remanded.
Recently, Sakthimurugan (48) from Jaya Nagar, Onapalayam with the help of the public nabbed a man who tried to snatch his mobile phone near Dr. Ambedkar road in Thadagam road. Later, they handed over the man to C3 Police Station.
The accused is identified as Siddique Abubakker (19). Meanwhile, Inspector Veerammal of C3 police station registered a case and during investigation it was found that Abubakker apart from stealing mobile phones has also a hand in stealing two-wheelers along with his gang.
Upon the orders of Police Commissioner Sumit Saran and Deputy Commissioner Perumal, the police busted the gang and nabbed Azzaruddin, Jaffer, Abbas, Shagul, Hameed, Pandiarajan, Subramanian, Palanivel and Ajit for their involvement in two-wheeler thefts.
While Siddique was produced in court on September 15, the others were produced on subsequent days.
The police have issued strict warning that legal action will be initiated against those who aid others in illegal acts.
