Coimbatore : The DVAC sleuths raided the Sub-registrar’s office in Mettupalayam and seized Rs. 3.32 lakhs of unaccounted cash. The DVAC department received a tip-off that there is graft involved in many registrations at the Mettupalayam Sub-registrar office.
Coimbatore : The DVAC sleuths raided the Sub-registrar’s office in Mettupalayam and seized Rs. 3.32 lakhs of unaccounted cash. The DVAC department received a tip-off that there is graft involved in many registrations at the Mettupalayam Sub-registrar office.
Following which a team of four Vigilance officials accompanied by a team of four Registration department officials conducted a surprise raid at the office.
The DVAC police seized Rs. 3.32 lakhs of unaccounted cash and conducted an investigation. It was found out that corrupt officials have received bribes from the public.
The DVAC Police are still investigating the files and documents attached to the registrations.
The inspection is expected to continue till night and cases to be filed against corrupt officials. The surprise raid created a flutter among those who have gathered in the Sub-registrar’s office.
