Budding 'Rudraksha Tree' draws tourists to Coonoor Sim's Park

The Nilgiris : Tourists in Coonoor are delighted even as the Rudraksha trees at Sim's Park in Coonoor have begun bearing fruits in keeping with its season. Some private concerns have also begun selling the fallen fruits at Rs.10 per fruit. Officials state that the trees will bear fruits until February.

With Sims Park gearing up for the second season in a couple of months, tourists have been thronging the Blue Hills during long weekends and festive holidays. Along with the wide variety of flowers blooming, like the Dahlia, Rose and Carnation, the main attraction at the Sim's park now are the budding Rudraksha trees.



The Sim's Park is home to many rare trees and medicinal herbs which are a feast for Horticulture students thronging the Sim's Park for research. The Sim's Park has planted and maintained the Rudraksha trees which are usually found only in Nepal and the Himalayas.
