After paying tribute to Thanthai Periyar, Pugalendi, AMMk's ex-spokesperson who was evicted by TTV Dinakaran, the founder of the party, addressed the media. "I never said TTV Dinakaran evicted me from the party but only said that AMMK cadres are subjected to injustice due to the false information provided by the Coimbatore District Secretary of the party which has been the reason for many party members to be evicted from the party. Many party members are quitting from the party and steps have to be taken to make them rejoin the party," reiterated Pugalendi.
Pugalendi said that TTV Dinakaran was failing to manage the party which was getting weaker by the day. "The Party District Secretaries and Zonal In-charges have destroyed the party," he opined. He added that he had neither taken any decision about joining any other party nor spoken about it to anyone.
Pugalendi also clarified that he had claimed to have started the AMMK party since he had contributed a lot for the party, and only TTV Dinakaran was answerable for the state of affairs in the party. "I am ready to prove my innocence but I have not yet been summoned for any inquiry. I was the first person to raise a voice for Sasikala. Former Minister Palaniappan had joined the party to obliterate it and TTV Dinakaran knows that very well. I do not even know where Vetrivel and Palaniappan were, when we went up the stage," said Pugalendi.
He also added that he had written a book on the asset accumulation case which was expected to be released soon. "I have written many facts about the case in the book," he added. Pugalendi was of the opinion that local elections cannot be postponed further and hence he was well prepared for the local elections to be held in November.
