Various party cadres protest against Hindu Munnani for inciting violence during Vinayagar immersion procession

Tirupur : Cadres from various political parties like the DMK, Congress, MDMK and Communist protested in front of the Tirupur Corporation today, condemning the Hindu Munnani for inciting violence during the Vinayagar immersion procession on September 5, in Tirupur.


Tirupur : Cadres from various political parties like the DMK, Congress, MDMK and Communist protested in front of the Tirupur Corporation today, condemning the Hindu Munnani for inciting violence during the Vinayagar immersion procession on September 5, in Tirupur. 



They demanded that immmediate action be taken against the perpetrators of the violence.

Since the protesters had not gained prior permission, the police tried to arrest them. This led to heated arguments and later the police compromised, after which the protesters dispersed.



The Hindu Munnani had organised a procession for the immersion of Vinayagar idols on September 5. During the procession, the members entered a hosiery unit with the idol and asked for donation which was refused. They immediately attacked the employees at the hosiery unit in Angeripalayam. 

A case had been registered against 20 members of the Hindu Munnani, out of which four are arrested.
