They had swindled donations made by donors from abroad to fund education of underprivileged children and used it for personal gain. The Coimbatore Chief Criminal Court Judge Ravi sentenced the duo.

Along with the help of Gnanakan, he had fraudulently used Rs. 3 crores of donations which was sent from abroad by donors who wished to fund the education of underprivileged children. A case was registered with the CBI and it was proved after investigation by the CBI that the duo had indeed tampered with the funds. The trial took place at the Coimbatore Court, today.
