Coimbatore : The State Deputy Secretary of the PMK's Youth Wing, Ashok Srinithi, submitted a petition to the District Collector at the Grievance Day meeting today against illegal red sand mining activiteies in Pannimadai, Nanjudapuram, Thadagam, Veerapandiputhur and Somayapalayam Panchayats.

In his petition, Ashok Srinithi the requested the District Collector to shut down the brick kilns that were operating without permission in these areas. He also requested the District Collector to curb the licensee who is mining red sand over permitted limits and urged dismissal of Government officials who have been turning a blind eye to these activities in the region.
