Tirupur : DMDK leader Vijayakanth expressed hope that his party's dreams of capturing power in Tamil Nadu will soon become a reality and then he would put his party cadres in a “ Thanga Thottil”.

Addressing the `Mupperum Vizha’ which was organised by the party in Tirupur on Sunday to coincide with the occasion of Vijayakanth's birthday, 15 years of Vijayakanth Fan association and distribution of welfare schemes. DMDK leader Vijayakanth accompanied by his wife and DMDK Treasurer Premalatha and his son Vijaya Prabhakaran addressed the meeting.
Even as Vijayakanth could speak only for a brief time due to his health conditions, the DMDK chief promised to speak for an hour in the next meeting.
Earlier Premalatha, Vijayakanth's wife and DMDK treasurer and son Vijaya Prabhakaran addressed the gathering.
Later addressing the media, Vijaya Prabhakaran asked the party cadres to consider him as their friend and not as Vijayakanth's son.
He then criticized DMK and claimed that the party to be an old warhorse and asked the cadres to give a fitting reply to people who spread rumours on Vijayakanth's health condition. He then assured the party members that DMDK's journey towards victory has already begun.
Addressing the media, Premalatha Vijayakanth, Treasurer of DMDK slammed the opposition parties for criticizing the Centre for the economic slowdown.
"Parties that debate and question on 100 days of Prime Minister Modi's Government should also talk about the 100 years of Congress Government and what they have done to the country." Premalatha questioned.
"We have already witnessed as to how Congress-led Governed was riddled with corruption. That's why former Union Finance Minister Chidambaram is in jail, and he has made Tamil Nadu shameful for his acts" said Premalatha argued.
Recalling the statement by DMK Chief Stalin on flex banners, Premalatha said: "Stalin says he would not participate in any meetings if the flex banners are erected in public places, but it is to be noted that the 'flex banner' culture was brought to the state only by his party, the DMK".
"At the 110th birth anniversary of DMK founder CN Annadurai, the party is facing danger. Ever since DMDK entered the state politics DMK was not able to come back to power, and it will never happen till DMDK exists" Premalatha said As many as 15 resolutions were passed at the public meeting.
Out of which the prominent ones were not to erect flex banners that disturb the public by the party men, emphasizing the TN government to reduce the fine imposed as per the new vehicle policy.
The resolutions also condemned the Union Minister's opinion of Hindi language as the only language in the country, and revoking the decision to conduct public exams for 5th and 8th grades.
Another resolution appreciated the “one country one ration card’ scheme by the central government.
