City Police file 150 cases against illegal hoardings; warns of stern action

Coimbatore: Even as the illegality of erecting flex boards has been a raging topic of the day following the tragic death of Subasri, a techie in Chennai after a flex board crashed on her, the city police have claimed that they have registered 150 cases since September 2019 for erecting illegal hoardings and flex boards and banners without the mandatory permission in the city.

“While 84 cases were registered by the police department, and the drive was continued after the High Court order and further 66 cases have been registered” Police sources said.

The police department has issued a stern warning against those who erect illegal hoardings and banners which pose inconvenience and threat to life to the general public.
