Coimbatore : On the account of Arignar Anna's birth anniversary, the Tamil Nadu government on Saturday announced Anna Medals to personnel from the police, fire and forensic departments in recognition of their "outstanding devotion to duty," an official release said.

Out of which, 5 police personnel from Coimbatore have been selected to receive the prestigious awards on the occasion of Annadurai's birth anniversary on September 15, Sunday.
Coimbatore City Police, Deputy Commissioner, S. Selvakumar, Crime Branch, Deputy Superintendent of Police R. Muthusamy, Criminal Intelligence Unit, Inspector R. Kumar, Inspector P. Prabhalla, Commercial Crime Investigation Wing Sub-Inspector, S. Padmavathy, Q Branch Special Police Inspector A. Sri Kumar are the recipients of the award.
It is to be noted that Intelligence Branch Inspector, Kumar has been promoted as DSP and transfered to Coonoor.
