Freak accident: Truck hits four vehicles in a row, many injured

Coimbatore : In a freak road accident, a truck that was carrying iron sheets from Ooty hit four vehicles which resulted in traffic congestion for over an hour in the busy Ooty- Mettupalayam road.

Coimbatore : In a freak road accident, a truck that was carrying iron sheets from Ooty hit four vehicles which resulted in traffic congestion for over an hour in the busy Ooty- Mettupalayam road.

According to sources, a TNSTC bus was proceeding towards Ooty from Mettupalayam, when a lorry laden with iron sheets and coming into Mettupalayam, began to run in a reckless manner.



The truck which lost its control had reportedly hit a car, a minivan carrying cylinder followed by the TNSTC bus and a two-wheeler one after the other

In the freak accident, the driver and the conductor of the TNSTC bus were injured. The vehicles that were hit by the truck caused traffic disruption and chaos.

The Mettupalayam police who rushed the spot sent the injured to Mettupalayam GH for first aid and they were later transferred to CMMC. Police are investigating the incident.
