A public grievance meet was held at the District collectorate in which grievance petitions for availing various benefits under various schemes including family card, free housing, occupational and educational loans, old age pension, and drinking water supply were submitted.
J. Innocent Divya, District Collector, ordered the respective officials to take appropriate action on the petitions received. She instructed the officials to expedite remedial action in a time-bound manner.
The collector distributed Rs 7,79,125/- under Self Employment Program for Youth, subsidiary and load vehicle, Rs 20,000 per beneficiary. A total of Rs1,20,000 for six beneficiaries for setting up Garments Shop, Petty shops from Collector's discretionary fund scheme was also distributed.
District Collector distributed a cheque for Rs 2, 50,000 as solatium the daughters of Devi who lost her life in a landslide near Sunshine Hotel, Ooty.
Kannan, Deputy Collector (Social Welfare Department, Asst Director (Customs) Babu, District Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Officer Guruchandran, Backward and Minority Welfare Officer Mohammed Kudrathulla, District TADCO Manager Ravichandran and other Government Officials took part in the meeting.
