Coimbatore : The Minister for Food and Civil Supplies inaugurated the automatic weightlifting machine at the Tamil Nadu Commodity Warehouse at Karumathampatti, in Coimbatore district.
Addressing the media, Minister Kamaraj stated that as a first step toward reducing the burden on workers, the first automatic weight lifting machines will be set up in 140 warehouses and begin to operate in 60 days.
Commenting on the Public Distribution System policy, the Minister opined, "Anybody can say One Card, One Country and name anything, but in Tamil Nadu, it will always be the Public Distribution System." He further stated that there would not be any change in the Public Distribution System and the project will be implemented without any difficulties.
Kamaraj also said that the State Government had urged the Centre to allocate more kerosene to avoid shortage and have it distributed according to the needs of the public. He also stated that the process of correction, addition and deletion of names in smart ration cards is expected to begin shortly.
