Tirupur : The police arrested TPDK cadres who were protesting near the Tirupur Corporation office urging a ban on the Hindu Munnani for inciting violence and disrupting public peace. The police arrested the TPDK members for holding a protest without permission.

The Thanthai Periyar Dravida Kazhagam members protested against the Hindu Munnani for destroying a hosiery unit in Angeripalayam in Tirupur which had refused to donate during the Vinayagar immersion procession. Various Periyar associations participated in the protest and insisted on banning the Hindu Munnani for violence against public and for creating commotion.
Addressing the media, TDPK General Secretary said, "The Hindu Munnani should be banned for inciting violence amidst the public. Forcing the culture of the North in Tamil Nadu is to be condemned," he added.
