Coimbatore: The police arrested three members from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) for raising slogans against Muslims during the Vinayagar immersion procession in Coimbatore.
Over 1000 youngsters participated in the Vinayagar immersion procession but a certain group suddenly started raising slogans against Muslims even after several warnings from the police.

Several complaints were raised in the social media about the VHP group raising slogans against the Muslims. Following this, the R S Puram police arrested VHP administrators Loganathan, Aravind and Sivasamy, and registered a case against them for abetting mutiny and disrupting peace in a public gathering. It is to be noted that the R S Puram police arrested the VHP members based on the complaint by a Sub-inspector after watching videos on the incident which were shared online.
