The Nilgiris : Alleged Maoist leader Danish alias Krishnan, 28, who had been imprisoned in the Coimbatore Central Jail was produced before the District judge in Ooty in connection with a case registered against him and seven others. They had been accused of trying to recruit members of a tribal community and for putting up posters in Nedugal Combai in August 2016.

Danish was produced before the Court today amidst heavy security since the court custody period ends today. He raised several anti-national slogans and urged estate labourers and tribals to protect the forest, asked youth and students to oust the Modi government, demanded that Tamil Nadu be a seperate state and asked for Kashmir to be protected. His controversial slogans created a flutter in the Court complex. Judge Vadamalai ordered for Dinesh to be produced in Court again on the 26th of September.
