Three-day Craft Expo 'Srishti 2019’ inagurated in the city

Coimbatore : 'Srishti 2019’, the three-day exclusive craft sales cum exhibition organised by Craft council of Tamil Nadu has begun today.


Coimbatore : 'Srishti 2019’, the three-day exclusive craft sales cum exhibition organised by Craft council of Tamil Nadu has begun today.



Mrs. Jaishree Ravi, Chairperson, Craft Council of Tamil Nadu inagurated the expo in the presence of Secretary Sujini Paul, Treasurer Mrs.Manjula Illango and Exhibition convenor Mrs. Lakshmi Ramachandran.



‘Srishti 2019’ showcases the finest collection of sarees including Maheshwaries, Chanderies, Kanchivarams, Silk cottons, Kotas. Tussars. Uppadas, Georgettes, Crepes, Benares, Chikankari work, Bengal cottons, Kantha Work, Block prints, Kutch Work, Bagru, Andhra sarees, Patola sarees, Paithani, weaves of Kerala etc.



Other items include Suits, tunics, men’s wear, children’s wear, precious & semi-precious jewellery, gift items, home décor items, home linen and other personal & lifestyle accessories.



The Stalls are erected by popular brands, boutiques, and designer labels from all over the country.

Designers like Zoyashi, O' layla, Naturally, Meekhalio, Kyraz (Lucknow), living Spaces a Vision. Studio Rama, Yamini khana, Mine, Deepa Thakur, Kaayaa, J S Creations, loukya, Kaahini, Artychoke are exhibiting their work for the first time in the Coimbatore.

Shristi, every year has been surprising its buyers by bringing in designers from all across the country, who work on handlooms that uplifts the weaker sections of the society. 

 

About Craft Council of Tamil Nadu :

Craft Council of Tamil Nadu is an NGO in its 32” year of existence, working for the upliftment of Crafts persons in Tamil Nadu.

It is affiliated to the Crafts Council of India, Chennai, which in turn is affiliated to the World Crafts Council. Crafts Council of Tamil Nadu (CCTN) has been instrumental in bringing out documentation of temple jewellery and household articles and the documentation and publication of the art of garland making.

CCTN has been associated in product development with stone Crafts persons, Palm leaf craft Crafts persons and sheet metal Crafts persons.
