Man washed away in Pandiyar river in Gudalur

The Nilgiris: Rajesh (29) a farmer from Gudalur was washed from Pandiyar river, due to soil erosion in the bunds of the river.

The Nilgiris: Rajesh (29) a farmer from Gudalur was washed from Pandiyar river, due to soil erosion in the bunds of the river. 

According to reports, Rajesh a farmer from Puliyamvayal in Gudalur along with his relatives was enroute to his hometown after selling the harvested plantain from his farmland in a nearby market. 



While he was returning, Rajesh was standing on the bund of Pandiyar river. Unexpectedly, the bund collapsed due to soil erosion and Rajesh slipped into the gushing river. Due to heavy water flow, Rajesh was washed away in the river. 



The police, fire and rescue department along with the locals are currently searching for him.
