Coimbatore: A group of students marched into the office of the Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore city, demanding the arrest of a professor who had tricked them to the tune of Rs. 70 Lakhs on the pretext of getting them jobs in Australia.

Vigneshwaran, a resident of Periyanaickenpalayam in Coimbatore had pursued a Hotel Management course at the Amrita College in Chennai. While pursuing his education, Ramesh Babu, a Professor in the same college had promised to get Vigneshwaran a job in Australia and duped him and 30 other students to part with Rs.2 to 3 lakhs each.
But Ramesh Babu had not kept his promise of securing job offers from Australia for the students after the completion of their course. When the students questioned the Professor, he reportedly handed them false offer letters and absconded.
The victims scoured the city for Ramesh Babu but were unable to trace him. The students have thus approached the SP to lodge a complaint and urged for the arrest of Ramesh Babu who is undercover and also for help in recovering the lost money.
