Pudukkottai: The Minister for Municipal Administration, Rural Development and Implementation of Special Programme, S P Velumani inspected the integrated Cauvery Drinking Water Station at the Mathayanaipatti Panchayat in Viralimalai, Pudukkottai.
The capacity of the water tanks in Mathyanaipatti are 5,90,000 litres and 2,48,000 litres respectively. Three electric motors with horse power of 150, pump 11,836 litres of water per minute at 74 metre pressure to 192 tanks, to supply water to 1570 villages.

Along with S P Velumani, the Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, R Kamaraj, the Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. C Vijayabhaskar, the Minister for Tourism, Vellamandi N Natarajan and the Minister for Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare, S Valarmathi inspected the station. The Director of Panchayati Raj, K Bhaskaran, Tamil Nadu Water Distribution, Director C N Maheswaran, District Collector P Uma Maheswari and TNHB Head, P K Vairamuthu were also present.
