Coimbatore : Farmers attached to Tamil Nadu Farmers Association petitioned the District Collector K.Rajamani urging him to control the rising prices of cattle feed, including bran, oil cake and cotton seeds.
Coimbatore : Farmers attached to Tamil Nadu Farmers Association petitioned the District Collector K.Rajamani urging him to control the rising prices of cattle feed, including bran, oil cake and cotton seeds.
The petitioners stated that the Tamil Nadu Government has recently increased the price of milk and provided concessions to the farmers. Likewise, the farmers pleaded that the Government encourage cattle farming, a subsidiary avocation of the farmers.
“Increase the prices of cattle feed such as a barn, oil cake, cotton seeds and other livestock fodders have immensely affected the poor farmers” they said.
The petitioners urged that the District Administration pay heed to the farmers needs.
To drive home their plea, the farmers have paraded themselves with bran, oil cake and cotton seeds.
