A Police team led by Inspector Selvaraj arrested the thugs involved in the case.
The arrested are identified as Kani Amudhan, Surya Maheshwaran, and Raja Ratnam near Sivandanapuram and seized the three machetes used to cut the cake from them.
A few days back the police also arrested Sundaram and Sathish Kumar in connection with the case and were looking out for the other culprits.
All the accused were booked under 25 (1) (a) 1969, unlawful possession of a deadly weapon and were remanded in judicial custody.
It may be noted in the trend of cutting birthday cakes with deadly weapons has caught up with some gangsters which has triggered panic among the public. The city police have been taking strict legal action against gangs involved in such horrendous incidents, and many such cases have been registered in Tamil Nadu.
The arrested who allegedly have several criminal cases pending against them have released a video in which they were seen cutting a birthday cake with a machete, sickles and knives.
