The ISRO Chairman, Sivan has confirmed that the signal between the Lander and the ground control room was lost while the lander was 2.31 kms away from the lunar surface.
Netherlands astronomer who was tracking the landing using Doppler signals has tweeted that the lander could have crash landed in the moon in its final stages.
ISRO is still in the final stages of analysing the data and letting the world know. The whole world and particularly the whole of India is waiting with baited breath to receive some kind of miraculous recovery of the Vikram Lander.
PM Modi who was in Mission Control was immediately informed about the communication mishap and he left his place in the viewing gallery soon after. He reached out to the scientists who were looking dejected and encouraged them to stay motivated and said India is so proud of you.
